IP Version 6 Resources, IPV6 How-To's, IP V6 Frequently Asked Questions and Answers, and Information on the 6bone

This IP version 6 resource was last updated on 01/28/05.

IP Version 6 should solve nearly all shortage related issues that we are currently having with IP Version 4.  Lately, we've seen several companies offer connections to the 6bone, which is actually an IPv6 network that piggybacks the current IPv4 Internet.  We're working on setting up an IP V6 router and web server right now.   Keep watching this page.  During the process, we'll be updating this page with an IPV6 routing tutorial / How-to and an IPv6 web server how-to / tutorial.

A few years back we setup an IPv6 bandwidth manager based on Linux kernel version 2.2.16-22.  The IP version 6 bandwidth manager also has IP V6 enabled software such as ftp, telnet, and the apache web server.  We have routing software setup and enabled on the system, but we haven't yet tested its IPV6 routing capabilities on the 6bone.  More to come.

Update: 1/27/05
Well, we have an IPv6 network block, a router that supports IPv6, and Linux hosts that support IPv6.  A few hurdles remain before we fully support IPv6 on our network.  Hosting control panel support of IPv6, IPv6 support in our firewall, and IPv6 support in our bandwidth manager.

Have an IPv6 resource that you think I should list here in the meantime?  Send me an email at ipv6@schmolie.com .  Keep in mind that I may or may not post your resource depending on how easy you make it for me to post, how nice you are to me, and the usefulness of the resource.  Post requests that I like may not be put on this page immediately.  I do have other more pressing issues to attend to much of the time.
